The inspiration behind ELW

The Inspiration behind ELW is Emerson, a sweet, sassy girl with the most contagious smile.  Emerson was born extremely premature in 2021, and as a result of her prematurity, has Spastic Quadripiligia Cerebral Palsy and relies on a variety of adaptive equipment to participate and thrive in her world.

Early in Emerson's journey, Emmy’s parents were thrust into a world they knew very little about. One of the first things they learned was how significant the gap is between what children truly need and what insurance is willing to cover.

Essential items that they considered crucial to Emmy's quality of life were often not deemed "medically necessary." They found themselves paying out of pocket for equipment, most of which carried an astronomical price, simply because they are "adaptive."
